Vini da Tavola must meet the following requirements: They must be made from grape varieties authorised by the European Community (E.C.). They must be produced in the E.C. They must have a minimum alcohol content (developed) of 90 alc and a maximum of 15° alc. They must have total minimum acidity of 4.5 grams per litre (in tartaric acid). They are anonymous wines in the sense that their labels may not mention: A geographical origin. The name of a varie ty. The vintage. However, the label mitst mention: The personal or corporate name and the place of business of the bottler. The alcohol con tent. The volume ofwine contained in the bottle. The bottler's code number (which can appear on the cork or capsule). The name "Vino da Tavola".

Suggestions for the consumer (e.g. serving suggesions, advice on how to keep the wine).
Brand name (which should be such as not to create confusion with V.Q.P.R.D. wines).
