Vini da Tavola ad Indicazione Geografica Tipica

The geographical name may be that of a region, province or commune, or any other recognised geographical area. Under the production norms for this category, I.G.T. wines must:


Be produced in the stated area.


Come from vineyards registered with the regional C.C.I.A.A.


Be produced from the prescribed varieties.


Respect the maximum permitted yields of grapes per hectare


Respect the maximum permitted yield of grapes into wine.


The compulsory information on the label is the same as for Vini da Tavola, with the optional addition of the following:

The name of the variety (if it accounts for at least 85% of the wine).


The vintage.


Prizes won by the wine in oenological competitions.


The words "Abbazia" or "Castello", provided that the wine comes. Entirely from the property of an abbey or castle.


The term "Vino Novello", if the wine was bottled before December 3lst of the year of harvest.


Notes on the history of the wine and/or of the producer.
