Corte dei Papi has 50 acres of vineyards, planted predominantly with Cesanese Cesanese Commune, two distinct native varietals of the region, despite their similar names. The estate is surrounded by three soft hills: Colletonno which lends its name to the winery, Colle Ticchio which gives its name to the vineyards and the derived wine, and Colle Ricchezza, so-called for its rich and generous soil.
From these historic vineyards, Corte dei Papi reinterprets the native Cesanese varietals and Sangiovese. When mature, the grapes are harvested by hand and vinified immediately after, using modern winemaking techniques that capture the full potential of these varietals.
